Catalina Island Museum
The Catalina Island Museum celebrates the Island's rich cultural heritage. Current exhibits include an award-winning exhibit featuring the romantic era of Catalina's steamships, Native Americans, a large relief map of the Island, Avalon's evolution into a resort community, Catalina pottery and tile, early communication, sportfishing, the Chicago Cubs spring training, and much more! Events include an annual Silent Film Benefit in June, Catalina Pottery & Tile Extravaganza and Exhibit during the month of September, an annual display of beautiful plein air paintings October - December, the holiday open house at the Inn on Mt. Ada in early December, and locally broadcast Telethon in late February. Our Museum Store features a wonderful selection of items to remember Catalina by: books, videos, nautical items, and a fabulous selection of fun and educational children's items.
