The house museum is open for walk-in and group tours April through October and for group tours only from November – March. Our museum guides lead visitors on 45 minute historical tours through the grand Anglo-Palladian house built by one of the America’s first true architects. Guides who have an interest in working with children ages Kindergarten through High School may also lead specially designed school tours (usually scheduled on weekdays). Docents at the Hammond-Harwood House receive discounts in the Gift Shop, have seasonal social gatherings, and attend bi-annual staff field trips and educational lectures. Becoming a docent is a perfect opportunity to teach, to meet new people, and to learn about one of the best preserved landmarks in the nation.
