Athenaeum, Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association


The Athenaeum stands among centuries-old town houses on a cobblestone street, just two blocks from the Potomac River. This beautiful Greek Revival building is home to the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association (NVFAA) and has a rich history in Northern Virginia. It is the place where NVFAA offers most of its artistic programs. The NVFAA presents exhibits on painting and other fine arts including architecture, weaving, films, photographs, art-related lectures, small theatrical and musical performances, and dance classes and performances. With more than 10,000 visitors each year, The Athenaeum is a popular tourist destination for all ages.
